It took me a while, especially since I love to travel, but I finally made it to Las Vegas and The Grand Canyon this past November.  Vegas was like an adult Disneyworld! The hotels there are dazzling…each one like a city unto itself!  Seeing cities from around the globe, re-created in miniature versions, was so much fun!  I’ve included a few shots from “the strip” here.  I’ve also posted some photos I shot from the front seat of the helicopter I took into the mouth of the

Grand Canyon! This was awesome! The Grand Canyon is amazing..to think that water carved these canyons over the centuries. The river shown is the Colorado River and it’s miles down from where the photo was taken! You can see the reflection of the copter windows in some of the shots to get an idea of where I was sitting. After landing, we all took a small boat down the river…beautiful! The copter shown wasn’t the one I was in, but very similar. I was also given permission by the Native American Indian Tribe on the reservation we visited to take photos of them in their ritual dress… it was incredible to meet these Native American families living in this harsh yet beautiful landscape. I’d like to thank ZINGOLOGY for allowing me to share this. travel experience with you!

Lauren Curtis: a spiritual take on art

by Chava on Oct.23, 2009, under Art

Art, spirituality and culture are all intertwined. Through my work, I express my beliefs, which have strong roots in the power of the Feminine and Nature, and draw from various mythological and symbolic systems of both ancient and modern cultures.
